The son of Ecuadorian immigrants, Lange stitches together memory, identity, and atmosphere to create detailed dreamscapes, producing, engineering, and mixing his own music to build a sonic world that is entirely his own. In 2025, he signed to Big Dada and released The Last Sound On Earth. Inspired by the question What will the last sound I hear before I die be?, the project channels unease, hyperconnectivity, systemic power, and the search for grounding through heavy electronics, distortion, and kinetic energy. Across singles like More, Protector, and Sender Receiver, he explores overwhelm, resistance, and transformation, turning dread into movement and finding clarity through sound. Through his ever-expanding multidisciplinary vision, Helado Negro continues to push the boundaries of experimental pop, returning to a core belief at the heart of his work: The last sound on earth is love. In 2025, Lange composed the music score for the Netflix Documentary Selena y Los Dinos and was the recipient of the Creative Impact Award through the Joyce Foundation and United States Artists. His previous critically acclaimed albums, PHASOR (2024) and Far In (2021), were released on 4AD preceded by This Is How You Smile (2019).
